From Bristol we flew into Wroclaw in south Poland. I really liked it here! Some of the better Christmas markets around (they had langosh!! Get in my noticabely larger belly!) They also had mulled wine with rum. Oh man it was good! We found some OK beer houses around too but I'm sure you already knew that.
Next stop, Prague! On the wrong train! Bit of language barrier so the ticket master gave up on trying to explain it to us and didn't bother fining us. Nice chap. We were both really excited to be seeing Alex, Rowan and Ella. So excited that we went onto the platform to wait for their train and when I saw their faces in the window I jumped up and yelled "I see them!" It was graceful and beautiful as always. Team Extreme assemble! Over the next month many adventures would be had. Most of it included hysterical laughter, dancing, wrestling, feasting and general merriment. I'll try and remember most of it for you!

OK, night one. Let's see. Feasting? Tick! Laughter? Tick! Dancing? You bet your sweet bippy, tick! Wrestling? It was the night that started it all, tick! General merriment? Much, much merriment. Did we peak too soon? No. We're seasoned professionals of the merriment making. My dance moves though, I just keep getting better and better!!
Rowan and Ella had been to Prague before so Rowan was our mildly informed tour guide. He took us across a fancy bridge with statues and great views that was at least 15 years old! We also saw the recently painted over Lennon wall. It had already began filling with new stuff. We briefly checked out the Christmas markets and saw the astronomical clock in the main square. According to our tour guide the designer of that clock had his eyes poked out so he couldn't make another. Bit excessive. We also ate heaps of food! Ella and I had half a duck each with knödels and heaps of gravy. Rowan and Al had a pork knuckle each. I think frosty had some potatoes.
One of the best team building things we did was sign up for an Escape Room experience. All five of us got locked in a room and we had an hour to crack the codes and get out. We did it in 52 minutes but who's counting? It was so cool! We would be shouting and congratulating each other when we found clues and walking around wondering if we would ever make it out again when we had no ideas. It was brilliant! It is also the only photo Frosty and I have of Prague but it's a cracker.

Onto a bus to Warsaw and it was possibly the worst day of the trip as Team Extreme. Twelve hours later we arrivedbut I'm pretty sure someone had told us it would only be nine hours. Hmmm who would do that? The worst part was that at the beginning of the ride Frosty broke the tablet we watch movies, listen to podcasts, edit photos and blog on. I say frosty broke it because he was furiously tapping it being silly when it died. He has the opposite of the Midas touch.
Warsaw! You're a weird one! We spent a lot of time walking around trying to find stuff. We tried to do another Escape Room but never found the building. Was that the challenge? Did we fail it? Well we didn't pay for it so that's OK. We checked out the not so impressive Christmas markets, got another langosh and introduced the Roz Dog to them. The most memorable part about Warsaw however (besides my cooking) was the blind experience. You pay to go into a completely dark museum and a visually impaired tour guide takes you around the rooms such as an apartment, busy town, bar and museum. It's meant to give you an idea of how it might be to be visually impaired. Well, I must say it would be crap always getting hugged by a blind man when you're just trying to get about. Oh he didn't hug you boys? Just us girls? Huh, thatsssssss creepy.
Rowan missed hearing that our guide was blind at the beginning so we would hear him call out at regular intervals from the darkness "can you see us?" Our guide did have a really good knowledge of the layout of the place. Another classic moment was when the boys were trying to figure out a statue. Rowan "I think it's a woman" Frosty "it's got a penis!"
But the best part was question time at the end. Can you guess what was asked first? "Can you see us?" We also asked him what he dreams like and if he lives by himself.
Enough of cities! Let's get a car and go out bush to Bialowiesza. The best part about this idea was we had no idea what to expect so when we saw the landscape was covered in snow it was pretty bloody special. Our accommodation was right near the national park. The owners were really lovely but their steps were a bit icy and slippy. I may or may not have kicked my own height as my foot slid out on a fancy stair mat. If I had done that, Team Extreme would have clapped because I would have done it gracefully of course. We had heaps of fun walking in the snow and cross country skiing for the first time. The ski hire guy asked us if we had done it before, watched us struggle for maybe two seconds then told us we'd figure it out. I was the first to stack. Then Alex ran into me as I tried to get up. Then we laughed a lot. Then later Alex stacked. Alex and I pretty much took turns in being fabulous just because we could. Frosty finally stacked it but Rowan never did. I'll get you Rowan, if its the last thing I do! Down in the national park we saw European buffalo!! True story and they are massive!
Bialowiesza was the place that really started the major feasting. It was so cheap, the weather was cold and we would actually do some decent physical activity. So by eating time we were ravenous and would order two meals each and wash it all down with beer. Some pretty fun nights were spent there. It was a really cool place.
Back to Warsaw for a few nights then off to Finland for Christmas! Let the festiveness begin!!!
